Dakoty Developer API

The Dakoty Developer API v1 is a JSON REST API for connecting Dakoty with Make, Zapier, n8n, AI assistants and your own code. You can read and write companies, contacts, clients, leads, activities, tasks, invoices and bookings, read products and e-shop orders, and subscribe to events with webhooks. This page is the map: pick a guide from the lists on this page, or jump straight to the API reference.

  • Base URL: https://api.dakoty.com/api/v1/public. Every response is JSON; a single resource is wrapped in {"data": …}, a list in {"data": […], "next_cursor", "has_more"}.
  • Authentication: send an API key as Authorization: Bearer dk_live_…. Each key carries scopes such as leads:read or companies:write. Applications that a person connects to their own account (for example Zapier) use an OAuth access token instead. See Authentication and scopes and OAuth access tokens.
  • First call: GET /me needs no scope and shows the organization, scopes and limits of the key. Getting started walks you through it in about five minutes.
  • Rate limits: by default 120 requests per minute per key and 600 per organization (the exact numbers for your key are in GET /me). Responses carry X-RateLimit-* headers and a throttled request gets 429 with Retry-After. Details in Errors and rate limits.
  • Safe retries: add an Idempotency-Key header to POST requests, see Idempotency keys.
  • Machine-readable spec: OpenAPI 3.1 as YAML or JSON, no key needed. Every operation in the reference has curl, JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP and Go samples.

Each guide covers one topic end to end:

Dakoty can push events to your server or to an automation tool:

Zapier connects through OAuth access tokens and the same REST hooks as Make and n8n.

The interactive API reference is rendered from the live OpenAPI spec, so it always matches the deployed API. Slovak readers can start from the Slovak overview and the Slovak reference page.

Write to Dakoty support from the app. Please include the request id or time of the call and the code from the error body.
